Which Diablo Immortal Class Should I Play?

Diablo Immortal offers players a choice of six different classes. Your class determines how you will play the game, including the abilities you can learn, the stats that matter to your character, and most importantly, how each badass armor will look like by the end of the game.

Once you start the game, your first step is to choose a class. Below is a quick breakdown of each category available at launch.

  • Barbarian: Buff, the huge bruises, the barbarians spend their time in the heat of battle, using their abilities to storm enemies.
  • Crusader: Faith warriors and crusaders fight the battlefronts with heavy armor and holy magic.
  • Devil Hunter: Smart fighters and demon hunters use arrows, traps and high mobility to kill their enemies from a distance.
  • monk: Monks, masters of fist and spirit, use a combination of quirks and abilities fueled by divine energy.
  • necromancer: Magical summoners who can raise the dead and order them to fight, blurring the lines between life and death.
  • Wizard: Powerful magical users but they fight with a mystical, versatile arsenal.

You will be able to change your class after starting the game, so that you are not restricted to a particular class. Play around and see what’s fun to play – whether it’s melee combat or long-range fighter, physical fighter or magic user, or undead puppeteer.

Customize your own Diablo character

Once you choose your class, you’ll have the option to decide the way your character looks. You can choose from a few pre-created options, or dive deep into the character creator to choose your skin tone, hair style, hair color, and a wide range of facial feature sliders. These customizations are purely cosmetic and do not affect your gameplay.

Eternal Diablo Basics

Diablo games use a third-person isometric view, in which players use movement, basic attacks, and other abilities to slash the waves of infernal minions and demons. On mobile, you’ll move by dragging your finger across the virtual joystick at the bottom left of the screen. Your attacks, abilities, and other interactions (such as picking up items and talking to other characters) are located on the lower right side of the screen. The basic gameplay involves moving around the map and attacking the enemies.

But if you want to take on Lords of Hell, you’ll need more than just moving and slashing. You’ll need to make use of items and abilities to fight your way through hordes of demons.

Each chapter unlocks new skills as it rises in levels. You can equip up to three skills in addition to your basic attack and ultimate ability. The abilities you equip determine how your character fights, whether it’s with aggressive jumps, wide flips, or long-range blasts of damage. Experiment with different combinations of abilities to see the interactions you can find – it’s tempting to use any skills you’ve unlocked recently, but you can find fun combos by mixing and matching older abilities.

As you fight the enemies, you will find different weapons and types of armor that will increase your stats. All items contain points, which relatively tells you how powerful that item is – the higher the points, the stronger the boost. Some items may also offer bonuses for different stats, allowing you to further customize your character. Want more tank damage? Prepare something that boosts your vitality. Want to avoid them in the first place? Stock up on dexterity boosters. You can distribute stat rewards around or below to your heart’s content.

Is Diablo Immortal free to play?

The biggest difference between Diablo Immortal and its predecessors? microtransactions. The game is free to play, but at various points in the game you will be prompted with the opportunity to trade money for in-game items. In fact, these microtransactions prevented the game from being released in Belgium and the Netherlands because of that Anti-loot chest laws have not been cleared.

You don’t need to pay for progression through the game, but these microtransactions are realistically necessary if you want to search for optimal end-game and PvP items.
