How to use Discord spoiler tags

Spoiler tags are a vital part of online communities where all kinds of current entertainment are discussed, including Discord. If you are active on a server where you discuss beloved TV shows, the latest movies, new video games, or even tragic or player content, it is important that you know how to create spoiler tags To keep your community happy.

When implemented, these tags cover Discord content with black or spoiler tape warning that other people on the server can click on it to reveal. Here’s how it works, the best ways to do it, and how to control spoiler settings if your preferences are a little different.

How to do spoilers on Discord

Make sure you’re signed in to Discord and ready to compose a message. You may want to create a private server or join a harmless community while testing spoiler tags to see how they work. When you’re ready, here’s what to do:

Step 1: write your message in the chat box As you usually do.

Write a letter of discord.

Step 2: Mark the part of the text you want to cover as spoiler. The message can be the whole or just a part of it. This is easiest with a mouse, but if you’re on a mobile phone, you should be able to long press and move your finger to highlight the right section.

Choose the Spoiler icon.

Step 3: A small menu will appear above the highlighted text with several formatting options. On the right side, you will see a box with an eye icon inside. This is the spoiler button. Select it, and the text you select will be automatically blocked until someone selects it. On mobile, this might just be an option that says Mark as spoiler.

The fourth step: Note that you will still be able to see your text in the text box, but it will now have two bars on either side where it is corrupt. This is the Markdown syntax that indicates where the spoilers are, and is an alternative to clicking if you’re the fast type. Just start the spoilers with “||” We end it with “||” And you should be fine. Enter your text in the chat, and the spoilers should work just fine. This might be a better option on the phone app, where fingers can make mistakes.

You can also corrupt images in Discord, and the process is more or less the same. Add an image to your message as you’re creating it, and select it to see your formatting options. Again, look for a file Eye Which is usually on the left this time. Select it, and the image will be displayed in blue with a spoiler warning on it.

You can also mess up almost all URLs if you don’t want people to see an automatic link. Just add “||” The Markdown language that we showed above is on both sides of the URL, and it will be hidden.
